Title | Virtual Meeting to Attract U.S. Investment in Egypt’s Apparel Labeling and Packaging Sector |
Event Date | 28 April, 2025 |
Description |
As part of the Apparel Export Council of Egypt (AECE)’s ongoing efforts to attract foreign investment and foster international collaboration, a virtual meeting was held in coordination with the Egyptian Commercial Office in Washington (ECS). The session brought together an American company and several Egyptian manufacturers specializing in apparel labeling and packaging. During the meeting, the American company expressed significant interest in entering the Egyptian market—either through joint manufacturing ventures with local factories or by establishing its own production facility in Egypt in the future. The company cited the increasing transportation and production costs in China as a key factor in its search for regional partners located closer to major markets. Egypt, with its strategic geographic location, emerged as a strong candidate. The company emphasized its intent to collaborate with qualified Egyptian partners who offer strong technical capabilities and robust supply chains to serve its clients effectively within the region. AECE and ECS highlighted Egypt’s compelling advantages, including its competitive production costs and its broad network of free trade agreements. These agreements allow Egyptian products to access major markets—such as the European Union, Turkey, and Arab countries—without customs duties, making Egypt an attractive destination for export-oriented investment. |
