in cooperation with International Trade Center (ITC) organized 3 important
webinars to enhance the Egyptian apparel exports "Voices of the Industry
Series". It was like a conversation between number of American industrial
experts and Egyptian manufacturers who wishing to work with US brands. The
first webinar was on 7 June, 2021. The experts talked about many impacts that
are now affecting the supply chain in the US fashion market after COVID 19,
especially for the mass discount retailers demands like TJMAXX, Marshals, and
Ross. Also
Mr. Mark Mendelson, was the speaker who has over 20 years of experience in the
women’s sportswear business. He worked with many sportswear brands like Nine
West Apparel, Ann Klein, Laundry by Shelli Segal and Elie Tahari after having
started his career in retailing at Macy’s. He is currently consulting to Dool
FNA, which is a athleisure wear company selling to companies such as TJMaxx,
Ross. He shared his
experience which was a valuable asset to promote and enhance the Egyptian
apparel exporters knowledge about the US market trends and how to work with the
biggest trademarks. The
second webinar was on 29 June, 2021. It was moderated by Ms. Mary Wilberding
and Ms. Jane Mosbacher who act as global consultants and investors in the
business of fashion with many years of experience working to connect businesses
and consumers to ethically made products from around the world. The experts
talked about sustainability practices and how it affects the purchasing
decision of US buyers. Consumers
increasingly want to know how, where, and who produced what it is they are
buying. This is a trend that will continue to grow and won't fade, so today the
experts presented their point of view in this aspect, and their advice on
Egyptian exporters. |
