Apparel Export Council of Egypt AECE, Egypt Textiles& Home Textiles Export Council – THTEC, in cooperation with Egyptian Pollution Abatement Program (EPAPIII) organized “EPAP loans and grants – Achieving environmental compliance and pollution abatement in Textile industry” webinar. EPAP is an initiative of the Ministry of Environment to help industry improve performance, reduce energy and resource consumption and reach compliance with environmental regulations which became one of the basic requirements for entering the Egyptian product to the global market. Dr. Hossam Samir Ezz El Din, EPAP III Program Director, presented the standards that must be followed to achieve environmental compatibility and the best technologies that reduce emissions and improve the production process, as well as how to use cleaner production technology, in addition to the financing loans and grants provided by the European Union, the European Investment Bank, the French Development Agency, and the German Development Bank for the purpose of shifting towards Cleaner production and environmental preservation. On the other hand; Mr. Ayman El Zahaby, Switchmed Program Coordinator, presented Switchmed program which funded by the European Union and achieved by the United Nations for Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in order to promote circular economy opportunities and circular value chains within the apparel and textile sector for valorizing post-industrial and pre-consumer textile waste.
