Description	Apparel Export Council of Egypt, in collaboration with Near East Services (NES), held a virtual workshop focused on one of the most important quality certifications and measurement tools related to environmental sustainability and impact management in the apparel industry—GHG and Higg FEM. Participants were introduced to the Higg Facility Environmental Module (Higg FEM), an assessment tool that evaluates the environmental performance of production facilities in the apparel sector. The session highlighted the significance of the GHG certification, which assesses and manages greenhouse gas emissions associated with the apparel industry, aiming to measure and reduce environmental impacts by adopting sustainable practices and minimizing carbon footprints. Additionally, international standards such as ISO 14064 were discussed, providing a structured framework for measuring and identifying emissions from all activities related to the garment industry, including raw material production, energy consumption, manufacturing processes, transportation, and distribution.
