Description	The Apparel Export Council of Egypt, in collaboration with the Egypt Textiles and Home Textiles Export Council and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Egypt, participated in organizing a two-day intensive workshop titled "Greening the Textile and Apparel Sector in Egypt: Opportunities and Challenges." ‏The workshop was delivered by an international sector expert and covered various topics related to supporting the sustainability transition of the apparel and textile sectors in Egypt, aligning with the requirements of the European market. Discussions included effective ways to reduce carbon emissions in textile and apparel factories, optimizing production space and raw materials, best practices in human resource management, required investments to achieve sustainability goals, Lean Manufacturing principles, modern management approaches, and real case studies. ‏Additionally, the workshop addressed circular manufacturing/recycling and sustainability in textile sectors, exploring the environmental impact of the industry, the importance of circular manufacturing and sustainability, mechanisms and benefits of recycling, along with an examination of challenges.
