AECE at A Glance

We aspire to increase the exports of Egyptian Apparel sector and access the international markets through connecting the Egyptian manufacturers with the largest base of international buyers around the world.

 

About us

The Apparel Export Council of Egypt (AECE) is a public private partnership between the Ministry of Trade and Industry and an assembly of Egypt’s most prominent apparel exporters.  The AECE is responsible for the development, marketing and promotion of Egypt’s apparel export industry.

AECE is a non-profit organization established in 1997 by Ministerial Decree.  Its mandate is to act in an advisory capacity to the Minister of Trade and Industry, policy advocacy in which it lobbies for the welfare of the sector’s exporters and, finally, to assist and promote Egyptian apparel exports.

 


Vision

To position Egypt as an international hub for global sourcing of apparel products and services through harnessing Egypt’s advantageous geographical location, trade agreements and vertical manufacturing capabilities.


 


Mission

  • To promote exporting as a business opportunity to the domestic apparel sector.
  • To strengthen the competitiveness of Egyptian apparel companies in international markets through support for advancing their operational and management capabilities.
  • To be an essential mediator between the Egyptian apparel export industry and important stakeholders.
  • To cultivate partnerships with domestic and international trade organizations, government agencies and training institutions in support of export development.
  • To place social and environmental responsibility at the heart of Egyptian apparel export development.

AECE Services

AECE extends its services to the member companies in the following areas:

Export Assistance Services:

The AECE helps member companies by:

  • Assessing their export potential and providing information and direct assistance that helps companies adapt to the latest trends and develop effective export strategies.
  • Providing companies with export opportunities by developing a strong rapport with sourcing offices, importers’ associations, and Egyptian commercial offices all over the world.
  • Connecting companies with various stakeholders to enhance the exporting process.
  • Lobbying policy-makers to support the interests of the sector.

Marketing Services:

  • Prepare and implement an annual sector plan for international trade fairs.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound trade missions.
  • Organize sector promotion events.
  • Work on sector image building by developing different promotional tools.
  • Assist members in their digital transformation process (website development and digital sampling).

Market Intelligence & Information Services:

  • Help member companies to identify and successfully develop potential international markets by conducting in-house market studies and providing guidance on market development strategies.
  • Provide export and import analysis reports.

Development& Training Services:

  • Enhance exporters’ awareness and operational skills related to global market rules, regulations, and trade agreements.
  • Network with multiple service providers to tailor vocational and managerial training courses to help enhance efficiency, and develop export potential.
  • Build an export culture by creating awareness of export opportunities and benefits among non-exporters, and hence increase their export readiness.

 


AECE also builds relationships with counterpart organizations worldwide to:

exchange trade and industry related information, know-how, and to encourage joint ventures and technological alliances with other countries.

AECE signed MOU with several international organizations:

  • The French Federation of Textile Industries (UIT).
  • Confederation of Tunisian Citizen Enterprises (CONECT).
  • The African Cotton Textiles Industries Federation (ACTIF).
